Important: There are no more funds for mini-grants for 2008. Do not apply for mini grants for 2009 until there is an announcement in early january regarding the maximum award for a mini grant.

Important Dates: Proposals are due on Thursday, November 17, 2008. Proposals delivered in person or mailed must be received at the Page Center Office, 1305 University Avenue, Boulder, CO 80302, on or before 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date. Applicants can expect to hear results within 12 weeks after the application deadline. All funded activities must take place during the academic year.

The deadline for proposals for the Roser Visiting Artist Grant for the academic year 2009-2010 is Monday, November 17, 2008. Please read the mission statement carefully to be sure your project is appropriate. Arts units may submit more than one proposal.

Typically grant requests range from $2,000 to $10,000. Please be very accurate in your budget and obtain realistic airfare and hotel costs.

Please send your proposals to Amber Story. They can be mailed (UCB 459), faxed (303) 541-1495, or hand-carried to the CU Foundation office (Page Center) at 1305 University Avenue.

The Roser Visiting Artist Program Committee will meet in December to make the awards, and recipients will be notified in early January.

The funding period begins Fall 2009 and runs through Spring 2010.

Award recipients will have to turn in a final report detailing the expenses of their visiting artist residency. These reports should be sent to Nicole Predki at nicole.predki@colorado.edu. All reports will be forwarded to the Roser grant committee for review.

Mini grants may be submitted at any time. The maximum award for a mini grant is currently $1,000.

It is important for department heads and chairs to notify faculty about the deadline for proposals. Please be sure that the attached forms are also made available to them.

Roser Grant Description 2008

Purpose: The Roser Visiting Artist Program was established to enrich the lives and education of students on all campuses at the University of Colorado in music, theatre and dance, fine arts and film studies, by funding visiting professional artists who have a demonstrated record of excellence and a commitment to working with students. This enrichment and interaction will be fostered by the Artists' collaboration in the creative process with students and faculty.

Evaluation Criteria: Proposals will be awarded to support artistically excellent visitors who will have a broad impact on the students.

Exclusions: Roser Visiting Artist Program Grants will not support fundraising activities, deficit reduction, receptions, marketing or publicity expenses.
